STUART PEARCE rubbed salt into David Beckham’s Olympic wounds by telling him:
You’re nothing special.
Team GB boss Pearce has left devastated Becks out of his 18-man squad for the
Games.
Psycho said: “There is no doubt David had a burning ambition to be part
of this, he said it many times before.
“But the thing is the other 18 players in my squad have the same burning
ambition.”
The Team GB squad was announced at Wembley yesterday with Welsh stars Ryan
Giggs and Craig Bellamy and England defender Micah Richards named as the
three over-age players in the Under-23 competition.
That left Becks, 37, out in the cold, despite the key PR role he played in
bringing the Games to London in the first place.
Pearce added: “We must not be sidetracked by thinking David is a stand-alone
professional who is desperate to play in the Olympics above anyone else on
this sheet of paper.
“I admit David not being in the squad is a biggish call but I was only ever
going to pick on what I saw with my own eyes.
“I didn’t pick on personality and I didn’t pick on ticket sales. I picked
solely on football reasons and I’m happy with the selections.”
No wonder this idiot is called Psycho he is completely off is rocker. David Beckham is still one of the best players in the World and is needed badly for the GB Team.He is a Worldwide superstar.
How disrespectful to him, who was one of only a few that helped bring the Olympics to this Country in the first place.
