Nintendo discontinue "Aqua Blue" 3DS console

In what appears to be a strange move, Nintendo are halting production of the Aqua Blue coloured 3DS console.

Could this have something to do with Nintendo making a big announcement at E3 2012?
Its probably just wishful thinking on my part, but the rumours of a 3DS Lite have been circulating for a while.

Glad i got one when i did then.

Sounds stupid either way, even if it is for a new sku since it's only aqua blue.
