Sam Raimi Will Produce Poltergeist Remake

The original movie was directed by Tobe Hooper from a script co-written
by Steven Spielberg, in which a family finds themselves terrorised by a
group of malevolent spirits when they discover that their home is built
upon an ancient burial ground.
The film is very much in the planning stages at this point, with a
director expected to be announced in the coming months. And regardless
of whether you think the movie needs a remake in the first place, it's
good to know that MGM have got a bona fide horrorphile on the case...
