TIGER WOODS should have been named and shamed over his loutish behaviour at The Masters, according to Open supremo Peter Dawson.
Woods was widely condemned for his disgraceful antics at Augusta
earlier this month — which included spitting, swearing and kicking his
clubs along the ground.
But Masters officials and US Tour bigwigs refused to disclose whether he had been fined or reprimanded.
But R&A chief executive Dawson believes that sets a bad example
and said: “It’s an unedifying spectacle, there is no doubt about that.
“Public sanctions would not be a bad thing — and they would be more likely to lead to a correction of bad behaviour.”
